A nurturing home life is at the foundation of a community’s collective health and quality of life.  Many serious social problems, along with chronic health and psychological problems, homelessness and substance abuse can be linked to family violence.  55% of Floridians personally know a victim of domestic violence, but only a fraction of these incidents fall under the radar of law enforcement.  Sadly, untold numbers of families in our community silently conceal the terror of family violence and do not find the help they need.  This study considers how our community can respond effectively to incidents of family violence and prevent future incidents from occurring.
